Is there anyway to georegister a pdf map within Acrobat Pro as it states in the Help files?

In the online help it states you can.

"

  • Georegister a PDF map or scan of geospatial data."

"

Yet it gives no way to actually do this.  Anyone have any idea?  Thanks.

Hello John!

I hope you are doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

Acrobat Pro supports reading geospatial metadata embedded in GeoPDFs — these are PDF files that already have geospatial coordinates assigned. With these, you can:

  • Measure distances and areas using geographic units (e.g., meters, feet)

  • Get latitude/longitude of a point

  • Export data layers (if present)

See this article for more information: https://adobe.ly/43iwKdC

You cannot georegister a regular PDF map (i.e., assign spatial reference manually) directly inside Acrobat Pro. The tool cannot:

  • Add geospatial reference data manually

  • Use control points to align the map to coordinate systems.

I hope this information helps. If you wish to file a feature request, please use the Adobe Wish form to raise a request with the product team.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

@john_9012  In my Acrobat Pro...yu need to click on the 'Tools' - 'Customize' - 'Create a Custom Tool' to see the Geospatial Location Tool.

This does not answer my question.  I already have that tool. How do I georegister a pdf of a map with it? Nothing seems to answer this question.
