Issue displaying fonts in certain PDFs

Hi Adobe community. 

 

One of my clients has an issue with Acrobat DC. It seems to be related to the arial font family, where sometimes text is shown as boxes (see below)

 

Other PC's in the firm display it fine, and they are all of the same build (OS and hardware). 

 

Any ideas on what may be causing this?

    Also, confirm all of the fonts are properly embedded (File> Properties> Fonts).
