Question

issue unwanted quotation marks when copy/pasting from Adobe Acrobat

I started experiencing something odd -- when I copy text with formatting from Adobe Acrobat and paste it into InDesign, quotation marks are automatically being placed around the inserted text. I do not want this and can't find a setting in either Acrobat or InDesign concerning this - it has to be an Acrobat issue. I am currently on a Mac on the Ventura OS. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @Ben_Grossman ,

What happens if instead of copying directly onto the InDesign document you copy instead to text file in another program first ? (like for example, in a text editor)

Does the quotation marks appear inserted around the text inserted when copying and pasting from Acrobat to other non-Adobe programs?

Great question - if I copy first to a non-Adobe program, the quotation marks do not appear in the non-Adobe program nor do they "follow" to InDesign if I then copy from the non-Adobe program into InDesign. Same goes for if I copy and paste directly into a non-Adobe program from Acrobat --the quotation marks do not appear. Thanks.
