Issue with receiver being able to view the Digital Signature

And the reason why this posting was moved to this forum was that you posted it in a forum, Installing, Updating, & Subscribing to Acrobat in which it was highly unlikely you would get a response since your query had nothing to do with installation, updates, or subscriptions to Acrobat.

Yes, Adobe Technical Support has an “online chat” facility as well as phone support, but not for application versions no longer supported (Acrobat 9 is over four versions back from the current version).

As to the question you posed, you provide precious little information as to the environment of the recipient of your digitally signed PDF file. Not all “PDF viewers” comply with the full PDF specification or even major portions of same. Examples of such are Apple Preview and Google Chrome's PDF viewer. What happens if the recipient of your digitally-signed PDF file opens it in Adobe Reader or Acrobat? Same problem?
