Question

Keeping hyperlinks intact when converting from a word file to a pdf

When I convet my word document to a pdf in acrobat, the hyperlinks from my word document seem to work fine, but once I download the file to upload elsewhere, a majority of the hyperlinks no longer work correctly. Is there a different way I should be downloading the file to make sure this does not happen?

Hi,

Are the hyperlinks to other documents on your system or to places on the web?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, once you download the file to upload elsewhere, a majority of the hyperlinks no longer work correctly.

Would you mind sharing the workflow/steps you are doing to create the PDF from MS Word? Did you save the word doc as "Save As" pdf or you used the "Create PDF" tool available in the tool bar?

You may check the settings of the application as well.

The feature can be enabled/disabled by selecting/deselecting the General > "Create links from URLs" option in the Preferences dialog. (Please note that the Preferences dialog is available in Acrobat Pro, Standard, and Reader desktop apps only.)
