Keeping trademarks as subscript when selected from the dropdown

Explorer ,
Jun 03, 2025 Jun 03, 2025

Hello!

I have the following example: First Last, CFP® with the subscript appearing correctly in the dropdown menu. While it appears correctly in the dropdown menu, when selected, it does not remain a subscript but becomes the font size of the name.

Is there anything I can do to correct that?

Thank you so much for your help!

Subscript is rich text formatting (RTF).  This property is not supported by dropdowns.  You could use a read only text field with the RTF flag set to true and use a button next to the text field with a popup dialog containing dropdown which builds the RTF spans object and passes it to the text field.

Thank you for replying! I just wouldn't know how to execute with different names. I am preparing for a person who will not ensure the line up of the text box to fit correctly based on the character length of names.

Set the text size to "Auto" (shrink to fit).

It should not appear as sub-/super-script in the drop-down, as it doesn't support this type of formatting.

Can you share a file where this is happening?

Thank you for replying to me. I have attached the dropdown list showing the subscript appearing.

We thought you meant in the actual list when the dropdown is activated, not inside the properties window.

How did you add it like that there? Did you copy it from somewhere else?

You can copy and paste it, or (Windows) press Alt + 0174 and it will keep the superscript character in the properties window only.

That's the regular Registered Sign character. It's not necessarily super-script. Anyway, it shouldn't make much of a difference.
