Question

Keyboard Shortcuts for Tools

I am using DC Pro and would like to know what the built-in shortcuts are to open and close the Redact and Comment tools. I am using an automation tool (Foxtrot) that can target the icons in the tools section as well as the X in the tool bar after I have opened it. It works most of the time but not 100% like I would want it to. I could make it work much smoother if I knew the keyboard shortcuts. I found some shortcuts at: Keyboard shortcuts for Adobe Acrobat DC  but I can't get them to work.

Hi SPF@Colorad0,

The link you already have defines the keyboard shortcuts which are available with Acrobat.

Would you let us know which of them didn't work? Also, would you let us know the steps you already tried?

Will be waiting for your response.

I have only been trying the redaction shortcut which is Shift+Y which doesn’t work. It’s not really clear whether that shortcut is for opening or closing. I’d like a command to do both.

Paul,

To enable single-key shortcuts, open the Preferences dialogue box (Edit > Preferences), and under General, select the Use Single-Key Accelerators To Access Tools option.

Let me know if that helps.

One other thing to note is that I can send Alt, V, T and it will bring up a list of the tools and usually in these menu’s it will give you a underlined letter so that you can select that option. I would think R would be underlined for Redaction but it is not. The whole list of tools does not have any letters in their name. The next one that is underlined is O for open. If the tool names were underlined then I could make it work.
