Kyocera Ecosys MA2100cwfx and Adobe Acrobat issues.

New Here ,
Feb 06, 2024 Feb 06, 2024

I bought a brand new Kyocera Ecosys MA2100cwfx today but Adobe Acrobat is not working with scanner. App is becoming nonresponsive when I try to scan. I have to manually kill Acrobat from Task Manager.

I followed steps from https://helpx.adobe.com/de/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-scanner-issues-acrobat.html . Reinstalled printer drivers, reinstalled Adobe Acrobat but still it is not working. Printing has no issues and  Kyocera's own scanning tools are working without problems.

I am using Windows 11 23H2 and Acrobat Pro 2023.008.20470 x64

Hi @KTurkes-DE ,

Please describe in more detail if this printing/scanning device was working fine with Adobe Acrobat before.

And also state if this device is shared over a network with more than two users.

As far as I am tracking, the firmware drivers and utility drivers that are downloaded from the manufacturer's website seem outdated. They have 32-bit and 64-bit versions for Microsoft Windows 10 but not for Windows 11.

If this was working before, it may be worth noting that an update of Windows 11 was pushed out recently.

My guess, regardless if your current Kyocera software is working or not,  to also force a manual uninstall/reinstallation of the all the required firmware, drivers and utility software following the manufacturer's installation guide:

Specifically, I would consider deploying  the Kyocera Quick Scan Utility, Driver Distributor (1.1.6.0) and the Driver Distributor Utility (1.2.7.0) in compatibility mode  (just for troubleshooting purposes to be thorough):

Hi @ls_rbls

I installed printer as a network printer, directly connected to my router via ethernet cable, and has a dedicated IP from DHCP.

I installed latest drivers via Web Install tool from Kyocera.

My Windows installation is also new. I just installed it few days ago. Used USB installation media, formatted all the disks and installed from scratch. All Windows updates are done.

Kyocera's Quick Scan is working without issues. Only Adobe Acrobat is having problems. Printer delivered with latest firmware installed on it.
