Language selection options not working in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Hello Adobe Community,

I have noticed that when i go to download Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from the webpage and i change the language to Dutch, i can only download version 2019.008.20071 which is highly outdated.

When i dont change the language on the download page i get the installer: "readerdc_en_xa_crd_install.exe"

When i install this version it's default language is English. I want to change the language to Dutch, however i am finding no way of realising this.

When i go to 'Edit' > 'Preferences' > 'Language' i select "Choose at application startup" on "Application Language" and save the settings, i have to restart Acrobat Reader DC. However after restarting Acrobat Reader DC i do not get the option to select a language. Even when i hold CTRL when starting Adobe Reader DC i still do not get the option to change the language.

When i go to 'Control panel' > 'Programs and Features' i only get 2 options with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC selected: 'Change' or 'Uninstall'. When i choose 'Change' i only get the option to Repair or Remove the application as shown in the screenshot attached to this post.

How would i be able to change the language to Dutch?

Try installing that outdated version and then open the application and go to Help - Update Adobe Reader (only in Dutch...), and see if it installs any newer versions. Adobe recently stopped updating the FTP site with the latest Reader installers, so it's difficult to know which one supports Dutch, but I think that it's at least 2001220043, which can be found here:

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/2001220043/

Thank you for that quick and very usefull answer.

i thought i had already tried that but it apears we had updating disabled through the Registry.

so i removed the registry key that was blocking updating and it made the update option available through the help menu. all up to date now 🙂
