Latest version of Acrobat 2025.001.20432 for Machas a broken font rendering issue.

With the latest desktop version of the app (for Mac) numerous fonts are no longer rendering correctly that worked perfectly fine before the update. The problematic PDFs were generated by XD. The same files render correctly within a browser, or with other PDF readers. This is completely disruptive to our review process. Anybody else running into this issue or know if Adobe is aware and planning to fix. I wish I could roll back to an earlier version of Acrobat but that does not seem to be possible.

Hello Rob!

I hope you are doing well, and we apologize for the trouble you had.

We have reported this issue to the product team, and they are actively working to identify the root cause of the missing fonts. A fix will be available soon. In the meantime, could you please share a PDF file in which the fonts/text are missing when you open it in Acrobat for further investigation? Also, please let us know the current version of macOS installed on your device.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Anand Sri.

I have had some success flattening the file by using the Print Production >> Flattener Preview tool.

I've used Acrobat Reader for years, primarily for invoices and statements. Never had a problem until now. Text for credit card and utility bills completely gone and only see background color. I downloaded a trial version of Acrobat "Classic" and a third party reader through the Apple App Store and the document display all content.

Like you, I wish I could roll back to a previous Reader version (like on my Macbook Air, which works fine) but haven't found a way to do so. Perhaps I can copy and install that version on my MacMini?

So frustrating and hope this issue is corrected in the next update!

Thank you for the update to my post (and recommendation)..

I installed the current release and the documents that weren't displaying properly (utility and credit card statments) now show all information as before.

I appreciate Adobe and its staff responding to this issue promptly!
