set font at Helv 9 point and the line spacing looks as if it is 4 point - very squashed and nor readable at all

how can I fix this????

You simply do not have control over the leading/linespacing that Acrobat/Reader uses for multiline fields. A user does have some control if the field allows rich text formatting, but that's it.

okay, that is what I needed to know - anty chance you may have a suggestion - I designed invoice and job quotation sheets in indesign for someone who only has Word and Reader. I thought Forms would work and it did beautifully where there was only one line necessary. I tried changing to rich text and didn't help.

Is there something I may be overlooking as an alt to do something like this. I actually created an image file in .ai and had that dropped into word (I don't have Word, so had someone whoknows Word pretty well try it for me) but that didn't turn out tio be a solution either - looked washed out and a bit fuzzy. I don't know if there is a solution at all?

thank you

If your main complaint is that the leading is not enough, all I can suggest is look into using a different font that has different metrics that might make enough difference to make it worth it. You could even go to the trouble of modifying an existing font if it's that critical.

The rich text approach can work, but it is up to the user to set the linespacing. You can set the linespacing of existing text in a field, but the problem is when a field is cleared (and the focus is lost), it reverts back to the default. To set the linespacing for a field that allows rich text formatting, display the Properties bar (Ctrl+E), set the focus to the field, click the More button on the righthand side of the Properties bar, select the Paragraph tab, and set the Line Spacing to what you want.

You can change the font size.

hi - yes, that is true, but the problem still is the line spacing. This issue remains no matter what size the font is

very frustrating
