Question

Lined Multiline Text Field

I am attempting to copy a document that is usually hand written to be able to type into text fields in a PDF. Everything has worked out great other than when I get to the part that is where a paragraph is written. The paper has several lines in order to hand write a narrative in the space. I am wanting to keep the lines but also be able to type in those lines. Every thing I have tried leads to the lines and the text not lining up after the third or fourth line. I have attempted to change font size and spacing and neither have worked. Any ideas?

This is something that's very difficult to do, especially with a scanned document. But there's really no need to have lines when filling in the form digitally. You can set the field to be transparent until it is filled in, so the lines will be visible in the printed copy if the field is empty, and be hidden underneath it if it has text. This will require a simple script.

Another option is to create a separate text field for each line, instead of a single multi-line field.

Hi,

Can you confirm that you have a document that includes a part with lines to fill by writing your text. When you type your text, the letters cannot appear on the lines?

Have you tried to convert the document in a form?

Would you be able to share an example of the PDF that you're working on?
