Losing chars while combining files in Adobe Acrobat Pro

While using the tool "combine" it loses some characters from the original PDF

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20759 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau... and see if that works.

The fonts on one or more of your pdfs might not be embedded, try running a preflight fixup to embed the fonts before combining. Here is a link to a related discussion:

Hi, could you please help us check the attached file. the fonts are not embedded but if i open the PDF directly from the browser it shows the document correctly.

if i open it from Adobe Acrobat Pro (which is updated to the last version) it shows up the missing chars.

I can confirm some type is missing when the pdf is opened in Acrobat or Reader, but appears when opened in a browser. I think the original pdf form uses the font Arial where the type is missing.

Do you have access to the original pdf form? If so, try changing the font in the form fields (Tools> Prepare Form> select a form field and right click to bring up the properties> Appearance> font). Is this pdf a combined file? did you try embedding the fonts before combining?

Yes i already tried embedding the fonts before combining and it worked.

But why is this happening while opening the same file in the browser?

I don't know exactly, but the solution might be to change the font in the original form.
