MacBook typing Lag when Editing PDF

When using the "Edit PDF" tool in Adobe Acrobat whenever I type there is a long delay between the keystroke and the characters appearing. I use this feature on my Lenovo ThinkPad with no issues, but when I try to edit the same PDF on my MacBook Pro (running Big Sur 11.6) this issue appears.

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that. Would you mind sharing a small video recording of the issue so that we can check it at our end.

Also please collect the Adobe CC logs as described here - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html and Procmon logs (Windows Only) here - https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html and share the logs with us via Document Cloud as described here - https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/sharing-pdfs.html

Amal

Amal,

I appreciate you working on this, I completely wiped my Mac again and updated to the latest version of MacOS and did not restore, but started as if it was a new out of the box MacBook and it appears that the issue is no longer persisting. If it does appear to begin again I will provide a video grab of the issue.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As descrined the application lags when editing PDF on MAc

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acroabt DC you are using on MAC? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 21.07.20099 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described  here - https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/m-p/4792082 and see if that works.

Also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.

Amal

I am running version 2021.007.20099 of Adobe. I have attempted to reset the preferences as described prior, but am unable to locate the indicated files.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe and still cannot find the files indicated in the thread above.

When I try to log in as the root user I receive an error and am unable to open the application (screenshots attached).

Hi there,

As mentioned you are unable to open the application in the root user account as well.

Please remove the application uisng the Acrobat Cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer once and reinstall the application using the link - https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Unfortunately this did not work. I have even completed a system reset and brought my MacBook back to factory settings and the issue persists. The lag time is much less than previously but it is sitll nowhere near right.

When typing the sentence "This is a test" I will be done striking the characters on my keyboard and on the screen it shows "This is" and then the rest of the sentence will appear charcater by character as if the typing is delayed over the next second or so.
