Measure tool broken

New Here ,
Dec 12, 2024 Dec 12, 2024

When I try to change the ratio for measuring

"select the tool, then right-click anywhere on the PDF. It displays the following options: Change Scale Ratio and Precision"

This option is no longer avaliabe since my forced update yesterday (12/12/2024) afternoon.

Please fix so I can work.

Hi @mark_5716,

Sorry for the troubled experience. I assume you may have tried attaching screenshots with this post, and we can't see those attached, considering your message about the problem.
Could you please tell us what is missing at your end and what version of Acrobat is installed on the machine? https://adobe.ly/3ZVcxZN;

Please share the details with us so we could assist you better

When I select the measure tool and want to change the scale. I should be able to right click and the top options should show the change ratio, change label, properties (or any other options that relate to the measure tool)

Now it is giving me the generic options that appear when I right click

Hi @Emma_J8241 and @McGheeMania

I have attached a short video video here; please check that it is working on my end.
When I choose the Measure tool, I left-click on my PDF page to select point one and drag to the next point; while the cross-hair pointer remains active, I right-click to open the context menu, which should show me the options.

If that is not happening at your end, let me know the best time to set up a meeting so we can discuss this on an MS Teams meeting, and we will try to triage the issue on your system.

Please know that we are fully committed to addressing issues like this and ensuring that the app functions smoothly for all users. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and we’re actively working to resolve this problem.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to make things right.

~Tariq

Thanks Tariq for posting the video. After multiple trials I was able to figure out the issue I had. It looks like the issue is that I don't get the same option when using the measure tool from the toolbar and the measure tool from the measure object option. When using the measure tool from the toolbar I was able to complete the measure then click outside of the PDF and get the same option as you did. But now the scale and ratio option is gone. Look at my screenshot below. If I try to do the same thing as you did using the tool from the toolbar it won't give a dynamic menu but rather options that are general.

Hi @h2218 @McGheeMania @Groulx

Sorry for the delayed response. If you record your screen while the issue is happening, it will help me discuss this case with the product team and ensure we are on the same page. Kindly share the Acrobat version installed and the OS name and version.

Let me know if we need to discuss this further. Would it be possible to meet online, preferably using MS Team Meeting?

~Tariq

It looks like I don't have permissions to upload a video.  When measure tool from the toolbar is selected and you right click this is the option.

Same issue.  This is literally crippling my workflow today.   Had same issue until I selected " 'disable New Acrobat'" in main file menu, then proper menu returned.

If you search for the Measure Tool from the context menu and select it again (even if you already have it active) the correct context menu will return and allow you to change the scale ratios and all the other measurement specific options.

Still broken but at least usable.
