Microsoft Teams App - PDF not editable ?

Community Beginner ,
Jun 05, 2023 Jun 05, 2023

Have PDFs that have fields etc that are fully editable and fillable in Adobe Desktop client (even reader)

When I open the file in the teams client, via the Adobe Acrobat App, the PDF is not fillable, I have to open in browser or application ? is this intended ? The app lets me use the tools, like reorder, rotate and delete pages, add comments etc, but cannot fill it out

When open in the Teams Client, do you know what app is actually displaying the PDF? Is is Acrobat? or is it something else? Can you post a screenshot?

Hi @Scott30300514935u

Thanks for reaching out.

With MS Teams, you can access all the Acrobat web features (as listed above). However, there are some limitations when it comes to E-sign tools.

When I open the file in the teams client, via the Adobe Acrobat App, the PDF is not fillable, I have to open in browser or application ? is this intended ? The app lets me use the tools, like reorder, rotate and delete pages, add comments etc, but cannot fill it out

Signature tools are unavailable from within MS teams. If you want to put a signature on the file or please open the file in Acrobat or Reader desktop app.

Please read the complete details here: https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/microsoft-teams.html

I am not sure if this is considered e-sign ? below is a standard PDF document... in 3 different interfaces, adobe client, browser, and teams (via adobe app)... the form is fillable in the first two options but not the teams client ?

I cannot believe an app would be released that allows you to do all the stuff it allows but not enter form data ?

It's not about the form.

It's the design behavior that doesn't allow form-filling within MS Teams via Acrobat.

Thank you for the further clarification.

Is there a location to put in feature requests like this in ?

I agree.   I can open up a fillable pdf form in Chrome and Firefox and complete but Adobe turned off the feature for their own app within Teams and called it design behavior.  I bet if we purchase a premium subscription for our Teams users that form will work as 'designed' in the desktop app.
