Question

mouseovers for e-mails & links vanish

Dear Adobe Community,

I hope you'll be able to help me out with the following issue: When I create a link to an e-mail or URL in Word, I can assign various values, such as a subject for the mail when you click on the address and a mouseover name, so that when I hover over said link, the quick info pops up. Whenever I save it to PDF with AcrobatPro, though, this info is lost, and links, even those disguised behind words, show very long and ugly URLs as a mouseover. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

Thank you!

@Helen@Pro At least you are using the 'Save as PDF' function and not 'Print to PDF' — since 'Save As PDF' isn't working that great for you, I would use the Acrobat Tab in Word. This would be the most reliable method for preserving all the features of your Word document. Acrobat Pro installs a specific add-in for Microsoft Office that gives you more control over the conversion. When uou click on the Create PDF button, a dialog box will appear. You can adjust settings if you wish, but by default, this method should carry over your hyperlink information, including the custom ScreenTips.

Thank you, @creative explorer ,

That's exactly what I'm doing but the quick info text still isn't properly being exported to the PDF. I tried the regular "Save As" function in Word's menu as well as both add-ins provided by AcrobatPro ("Save to PDF" in the left-hand menu and on the Acrobat tab in the top menu), all with the same results. It basically shows the the prompt/command "mailto" plus the e-mail address and the actual URL of all other links instead of the quick info text. This is strange because in all other respects, AcrobatPro is such a great tool for making documents "internet-ready", i.e. preparing them for online publishing (creating titles for internet tabs, entering metadata etc.), so it feels like this should be a basic  that's not working properly - maybe a glitch? ...or a version issue? (I'm using the 2020 version in German)
