Multilevel bookmarks?

New Here ,
Apr 30, 2020 Apr 30, 2020

I see PDF files frequently in which bookmarks are arranged with main level bookmarks and indented sublevel bookmarks beneath them.  In Acrobat DC, I can only make one level of bookmark.  Help!

You can drag a bookmark to be the child of another bookmark, but it's a bit tricky. When you drag it you need to move the mouse directly under the (desired) parent and then move it a bit to the right, and then drop it.

You can manipulate bookmarks by clicking and dragging them, and that includes indenting them to a be subset of another one.  It's a bit persnickety, but watch the insert point closely as you drag a bookmark.  It will show up between bookmarks, and a slight movement to the right will shift it to be a 2nd level bookmark.

Also, if your PDF is created from a well-formatted source document, with good use of styles, you can have the bookmark nesting created by the source styles.

My best,

Dave
