Need a clarification regarding Acrobat Pro 2024 (3 years license)

Hello,

We are interested in Acrobat Pro 2024 (3 years license).

Before making the purchase we would like to know whether OCR (especially scanning scanned image files/documents) is also included in the purchase.

Also, regarding the license, do we get an option to continue using the software (on MacOS specifically, for your info, just in case) after the expiration date ?

In addition, what happens if we decide to move the same license (not expired) to another Mac by just purchasing a new computer and using Apple's migration software (which also means no Apple ID change, just transferring from one Mac to another) ?

Thanks!

  1. Yes, OCR functionality is fully included in the purchase of Acrobat Pro 2024.

  2.  Once the three-year support and update period ends, you can continue using the software indefinitely on the machine it was installed on. BUT, you will stop receiving any further security patches, feature updates, or compatibility updates for new operating systems (like future macOS versions) released after the 3-year term. If security isn't an issue, then you should be fine. If security is an issue, that's going to be a problem!

    3. Moving the license to a new Mac is fully supported, even when using Apple's Migration Assistant, but you must follow a key step to avoid activation issues. Again, moving the software to a different machine does not reset or renew the expiration date of that support window. When you purchase it, it starts the ticking down. Before retiring the old Mac or using Migration Assistant, you must Deactivate Acrobat Pro 2024 on the old machine. If you skip the deactivation step, the license counter might incorrectly show that you are still using the license on the old Mac. After deactivation, when you run Migration Assistant to move your files and applications to the new Mac, Acrobat will open. When you launch it, it will prompt you to sign in or enter your serial number, successfully activating the license on the new Mac without conflict.

    4. Granted, maybe come 2027, you can get Acrobat Pro 2027 (another 3-year license). The purchase of Acrobat Pro 2027 would provide you with a new serial number and a new 3-year support window for that specific version

Thank you for clarifying.

Regarding this, are you sure about that ?
It's not a pertpetual license, just a 3-year one. Thus, presumably, it should deactivate the software too, once the license's activation period ends.

Is there a specific clause in the agreement that would let the user continue using Acrobat after the expiration date ?
