Need help formatting text in a PDF

Hi, I have Acrobat 10X Pro and can't seem to figure out how to adjust the text size and formatting when adding a text box to a document. Can anyone direct me to those options please? I know to you it may seem like an ancient version but we only use it for our business maybe 2-3 times per year and we will be retiring soon so don't want to spend money upgrading something we'll only use a few more times. Thanks for your help

By "text box" do you mean a text field? A free-text comment? Static text? Something else?

What exact tool are you using to add it?

Hi,

I have Adobe Acrobat 10x Pro on my Windows 11 PC ...so I opened a PDF file and went over to the right where the TOOLS/COMMENTS/SHARE options are. I click on COMMENTS  then drawing markups and that's where I chose the "add text box". I then added text that is probably Arial 12pt which is too big. I clicked everywhere and could not find anything to do with adjusting text size anywhere for any function. If you have a better way to add text to a PDF, please tell me!! But I do need it to be about 8pt., maybe 10pt.

This is a comment. You can edit the text's properties by selecting it and pressing Ctrl+E to open the floating text properties bar, but be aware that this text is easily removed from the file. If you want to add more "permanent" text use the Add Text tool under Tools - Content Editing.

As far as I remember there is no Add Text tool in Acrobat Pro X, there is just a prehistoric editing tool (in the Print tools I guess).

Sorry, memory is weak.

I just checked a video training I made in 2009: try67 is right, there is an "Edit Text" tool in Acrobat Pro X, select the text and right-clic to see its attributes.

The Cntr + E shortcut is a good one to remeber but I just discovered a better way! Right click the Quick tools bar, select Customize, expand the Comment section and scroll all the way down to "Aa Text Properties". Then hit the + button to add it to your quick tools. Now whenever you double click a text box the formatting box opens!
