Need help making PDF links inactive

Hello

I have a book that has many url's but the author does not want them to be active. I export the PDF as Press Quality and leave the Hyperlinks box unchecked, but the url's keep appearing as active links.

Can anyone please help. I'm using the most up-to-date versions of InDesign and Acrobat for Mac

Thanks in advance

Ruth

You can select the link and convert the text to outlines (or just the "https://" portion of the text), this will make the link invisible to pdf viewers that automatically find web addresses.

Outlining type is not an ideal solution for many reasons, so make a copy of your file first.

Actually, here's a better idea:

add a space between the two slashes, and adjust the vertical size to match the original spacing.

You can do a search & replace to the entire document.

Plain-text URLs can be automatically converted to clickable links by the application. This is not something you can control in your file.

Select the Edit Tools panel (on the right side of the screen).

Then, from the top  menu, select Remove web links.
