New Adobe Acrobat DC Layout

A couple of weeks ago I opened a pdf and found that there is a new layout to my Adobe Acrobat DC.  It appears to be very much the excat same program, but now all of the Tools are on the left, rather than the right, as well as a few other minor changes to the appearance.  What I can't figure out is if there has been any added benefits.  Hard to imagine it would be an update that only forces you to relearn where all of the Tools are, but doesn't offer an added benefit with the change.

And if there is no benefit, is there a way to revert back to the older layout?

Can you confirm the exact version of your operating system and software?

Have you upgraded your system as well recently?

For now, yes you can revert to the old interface.

From the upper left, select the hamburger menu (3 horizontal bars, maybe labeled "Menu") and select Disable New Acrobat.

On Macs, it's under the View menu.

So far, I haven't detected any new features or utilities, just a rearrangement of what was there and some bug fixes.

And I haven't heard any comments like "gee, this is great Adobe...thanks for switching my left-side tools to the right, and my right-side tools to the left and making everything into tiny grey icons."

Thank goodness we can switch to the old interface. For now, at least.

Thank you for your reply. I too have been confounded by the new Acrobat layout and have now switched back to the old layout. Although I could get used to the tools switching from the right side to the left, I don't apprecaite them getting smaller. But what really has me stumped on the new layout is where are all the icons for the commenting? For example strikethrough or strike through and replace, insert text, etc. I coud only seem to find adding a comment box.

Thank you so much for this! Editing on the new layout is horrendous. you had to click and click to get to undo. I had to export to jpg to make changes in photoshop. Adobe, please don't take away all the editing tools in the new layout once you make us switch forever. if you want to add more editing tools that is welcomed, but please don't minimize them, that is not helpful.

THANK YOU !  to Adobe for the 'Disable New Acrobat' option, and to Bevi Chagnon for pointing it out. Reverting to the previous UI saved a ton of wasted time and clumsy stumbling around in an app that my company and I depend on.

I will never understand WHO these changes (UI change-arounds) are intended to help??? WHO is better off now that all the tools are in different places, look different, perform differently, etc.??? Can you IMAGINE another industry where F'ing with a user's workflow for no (real) reason is tolerated??? I feel like someone should be reminded that a HUGE part of an app's functionality is the UI. When you blow up the UI, you blow up users' workflow.

Please, PLEASE stop making these 'change for the sake of change' changes!

Not all heroes wear capes! I absolutely hate the new layout! I used to scoff at my Dad whenever he complained about Microsoft changing the layout of excel and word - but I am the same with this new layout. I still hate the save as feature not going straight to windows explorer. I'm sure there are software design reasons for these changes but they seem over engineered to me. Simple is better.

I have this same issue. Suddenly the layout is totally different with no quick action toolbar and all things are on the left side of the screen. I agree with Rob30812518n7rx, this layout is absolutely no value add and I need to be able to use it using the old layout. PLEASE let us know how we can do this! I am using Adobe Acrobat 23.003.20215. This is so terrible and I am completely disabled by this change.

What the h*** was wrong with the old layout that Adobe felt so compeled to change it? I had an awful time finding the icons for things like zoom, search, page numbers, etc.f

I've been using it for a week or so now. Overall, it has a nicer feel I think.

But please can we have back:

Go to first/last page icons - so can do with one click. I don't see why it deemed a good idea to have to click one page at a time.

Magnifying glass icon that allows dragging around a target area that then zooms in to that selection - this is sorely missed, I spend a lot of time trying to interpret client comments/amendments and trying to spot their exact deletions etc at 100% is virtually impossible. On the new Acrobat I have to laboriously zoom and then drag around to the chosen spot (often I'm talking literally where a client has changed a semi-colon to a comma, it's fun, honest) and it's killing me.

As a general point, my single biggest request for Acrtobat Pro would be to radically improve the ability to spot where comments are referring to on the page, I've always felt it's way too subtle. Could it not have a clear highlight cirle that shows for each comment perhaps?
