Question

no option to require a date to be added in the form

I am trying to send out a form to request signatures but when I add the date field there is no way to set it as required.

How can this be fixed?

I urgently need to send this form out and I'm using Adobe Acrobat as it's supposed to be an effective sign request tool but if it can't ensure a date is added does that defeat the whole point of making it a secure way of requesting signatures?

The required property is only enforced when the file is submitted back to you. Not when signed, saved, printed or anything else. If you want to prevent the user from signing the file before entering a value into a date field you will need to hide the signature field and use a script to make it visible when the field is filled-in, and vice versa.

In the properties of the field you can set it as required.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
