Hi,
afer updating to Sonoma I'm not able to print in Acrobat. The Adobe Distiller is opening automatically and then the following error occurs:
A PDF file cannot be created from the following file:
/var/folders/wl/rf9rt6y96jd46gqsn6h12zbw0000gn/T/PSbmDDom.tmp
For details on how to use the Adobe PDF settings: Standardqualität
see the log file
Does someone know a hint how to solve the problem? Printing with adobe reader ist possible.

The latest Adobe Acrobat version (23.06.20360) released addresses this issue. As you have Acrobat 2017, it might not work with the newest version. You may try installing the latest version of Acrobat Reader and check if that helps.
As it is an optional version, please update the application to the newest version using the following steps:
- In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help
- Select "Check for Updates."
For more information about the new release, refer to the following link: Adobe Acrobat Release Notes.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Hope this helps everyone. I am running Sonoma with latest OS 14.2.1 and deleted the current version of Acrobat on my MacBook M2 Max. I removed it and into the trash. Reinstalled the latest Acrobat Reader and I noticed the interface had changed, and using Google Chrome it printed flawlessly. Printed from the print icon in the program. Previously with the previous version I had spent all moring updating drivers, firmware, trying different browsers, and even updating Sonoma from 14 to 14.2.1. I thought it was an M2 compatibility issue but it appears just getting rid of the earlier version of Acrobat Reader did the trick.

See This article: https://eclecticlight.co/2023/09/25/postscripts-sudden-death-in-sonoma/
Acrobat cannot print a Postscript file to a non-postscript printer, and Sonoma does not recognize my Xerox printer as being a Postscript printer (which it is). I installed the Generic Postscript Printer driver instead of the Xerox driver, and now everything is working. This may be a fix for yuou if you own a postscript printer.
If you don't have a Postscript printer the only two choices you seem to have are:
I'm sure Apple and/or Adobe will fix the problem soon. (sarcasm)

The best solution is opening in preview; then it will print for sure. Just wait until Adobe/Apple have solbved this problem...

That is exactly what we do. But this is really not normal as most of us are very old customers who pay quite a lot for something which is supposed to be professional. And moreover, we receive no answer to our complaints. This is absolutely disapointing.

Totally agree, sad that Adobe is silent; it's a shame!

Why Adobe is not responding?

This is a "community" forum. This is for users to try to help users. Adobe doesnt moderate nor probably even look at this.

The creative cloud subscription is very expensive. Adobe should refund part of this subscription if the service provided is not correct.

The service provided worked up until you upgraded to Sonoma. You should not have taken the update that fast. It looks like Sonoma did change “something” that Adobe was using to print, and that got changed by Apple.

Adobe told me that they try to fix this problem. I've talked to them a couple of days ago and it's not fixed yet.

Absolutely ! It was not a complain. I just wanted to say that I've talk with the Adobe teams and they're working on it !

Ado: Not sure, Maybe next update will fix this issue after couple of months.
Mick: Sorry? You are not Mac OS Sonoma? I can’t believe this, so many people are complaining. When is the support coming?
Ado: Acrobat DC Pro is the complimentary version with CC all apps and not supported with Mac OS Sonoma. So, we provide you the Acrobat Pro 2020 Perpetual license which is the onetime payment and license valid for the lifetime.

When I try to print, I get a message that says "the document could not be printed" and when I accept, another message appears "there were no pages selected to print."
I don't know if the same thing happens to anyone. You must wait for a macos update or it is necessary for Acrobat to solve the problem.
PS: When you put "print as image" it does let me print but I don't want to print my documents with that option.

I'm having the same problem after upgrading to MacOS Sonoma. No pdf's will print - getting similar messages to others on this thread about no pages selected, etc. I had to get an important document out and the stop gap solution was to convert the pdf to a Word doc so that it could be printed. Printer is an HP LaserJet 402n.

I solved this issue by uninstalling Adobe and then re-installing the program. Printing problem was resolved in that I could now print pdf files with iMacOS Sonoma.

I'm having the same problem. To print a pdf, I have to open the file in the Preview app then print.

After installing Sonoma (the new MacOS) Adobe doesn't print pdf files anymore:
I deïnstalled Adobe from my Creative Cloud and reïnstalled the program but it didn't work...
See the message, below
Kan geen PDF maken van:
/var/folders/7p/r9vy1b_129s36q8cwbz2b8zm0000gn/T/PSqMVCSX.tmp
Met Adobe PDF-instellingen: Hoge afdrukkwaliteit

Does anyone know what to do?

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
Our engineering team is aware of this issue and we're eager to work together to resolve it. I have shared more details with you in a private message, please check.
Also as a workaround, please try to print the PDF as an image. Open the PDF > Go to Print > Advanced > Print as an Image
Let us know how it goes.

Hi Amal,
Thanks for your reply. The solution you mentioned is not not sufficiently because the image has a poor quality. I use Adobe a lot so I hope a proper solution is on the way!
Best regards,
Richard Toussaint
