Hi,
afer updating to Sonoma I'm not able to print in Acrobat. The Adobe Distiller is opening automatically and then the following error occurs:
A PDF file cannot be created from the following file:
/var/folders/wl/rf9rt6y96jd46gqsn6h12zbw0000gn/T/PSbmDDom.tmp
For details on how to use the Adobe PDF settings: Standardqualität
see the log file
Does someone know a hint how to solve the problem? Printing with adobe reader ist possible.

The latest Adobe Acrobat version (23.06.20360) released addresses this issue. As you have Acrobat 2017, it might not work with the newest version. You may try installing the latest version of Acrobat Reader and check if that helps.
As it is an optional version, please update the application to the newest version using the following steps:
- In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help
- Select "Check for Updates."
For more information about the new release, refer to the following link: Adobe Acrobat Release Notes.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Hope this helps everyone. I am running Sonoma with latest OS 14.2.1 and deleted the current version of Acrobat on my MacBook M2 Max. I removed it and into the trash. Reinstalled the latest Acrobat Reader and I noticed the interface had changed, and using Google Chrome it printed flawlessly. Printed from the print icon in the program. Previously with the previous version I had spent all moring updating drivers, firmware, trying different browsers, and even updating Sonoma from 14 to 14.2.1. I thought it was an M2 compatibility issue but it appears just getting rid of the earlier version of Acrobat Reader did the trick.

See This article: https://eclecticlight.co/2023/09/25/postscripts-sudden-death-in-sonoma/
Acrobat cannot print a Postscript file to a non-postscript printer, and Sonoma does not recognize my Xerox printer as being a Postscript printer (which it is). I installed the Generic Postscript Printer driver instead of the Xerox driver, and now everything is working. This may be a fix for yuou if you own a postscript printer.
If you don't have a Postscript printer the only two choices you seem to have are:
I'm sure Apple and/or Adobe will fix the problem soon. (sarcasm)

Hi there
Would you mind collecting the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html and the print logs https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-print-logs-for-acrobat.html , and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.
Regards

Unfortunately, subsequent updates did not change anything for the better.
For me, printing to an image is disabled and I cannot change it because AR informs me that in MacOS14 Beta (Sonoma) it is not possible to print other than to an image.
The problem is that I don't have the Beta version... but the current version of Sonoma 14.3 and the latest AR version!
What should I do? Help!
No tips found here so far, still don't work!

Thank you for reaching out.
As you are using the Acrobat 2017, it is an old and unsupported version. It is never tested on the latest versions of the OS.
It may or may not work on the latest OS versions.
You may try the troubleshooting steps suggested in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-pdf-printing-acrobat-reader.html. Check if that helps.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Halloele,

Hello,
I too still cannot print.
I downloaded the Adobe Acrobat version you referenced above for Mac, but it does not work for my Adobe Acrobat 2017. Will you be releasing another version that will work for Acrobat 2017?!

Hi there
We are sorry to hear that. Our engineering team is working on the fix for Acrobat 2020 version. The fix will be available in the future update.
Also, Acrobat 2017 is an EOL application. For more info. Please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/end-of-support-acrobat-2017-reader-2017.html

Hello Markus,
Thank you for the input. Previous advice in this string proposed that my purchased version of Acrobat Acrobat 2017 (for Mac, obtained in 2020 Build: 17.12.30262.10262, Version 2017.012.30262) was no longer supported. I assume I have the the last version of Adobe 2017 offered. I regularly check for updates and it always has been up to date, this may be due to the fact that I have the last ever update of an old product.
The product has worked satisfactorily until the required installation of the Sonoma OS with the replacement of the logic board on my laptop. resulted in no printing.
To your suggestion, Adobe Reader does work on my Mac/OS. I use it now clumsily to print files that I have modified with my Adobe Acrobat product. I am surrprised that a product purchased in 2020 would be unsuported in 2023, doesn't seem right.
I am assessing the options of a subscription vs purchase of what I understand to be currently available Acrobat 2020 for Mac. Purchasing outright can put me in the same position three years from now and the subscription is costly for my simple needs. Not such good choices.
Thanks again,
Rick

Mine only seems to work in combination with Acrobat distiller. This wasnt the case before. Is it possible to print without the use of Distiller? I am using a Macbook Pro running the latest version of Sonoma and Acrobat.

Hi there,
same problem here. I have Acrobat Professional 2020 (classic version), and after updatuing to Sonoma, I cannot print anymore. I actually can print with Acrobat Reader. I tried to update my Acrobat 2020 to the latest update (20.005.30524), but that is also not possible (the update says: no software found). I de-installed Acrobat 2020 and re-installed it from the Adobe website, but the problem persists.

I purchased Adobe Pro 2020 to replace the unusable Adobe Pro 2017. It did solve my probllem, however I understand that the product will "sunset" in mid-2025, so I am not sure I solved vs postponed a problem for a significant price. The error I received with 2017 was "no page selected." if it helps.
