Hi,
afer updating to Sonoma I'm not able to print in Acrobat. The Adobe Distiller is opening automatically and then the following error occurs:
A PDF file cannot be created from the following file:
/var/folders/wl/rf9rt6y96jd46gqsn6h12zbw0000gn/T/PSbmDDom.tmp
For details on how to use the Adobe PDF settings: Standardqualität
see the log file
Does someone know a hint how to solve the problem? Printing with adobe reader ist possible.

The latest Adobe Acrobat version (23.06.20360) released addresses this issue. As you have Acrobat 2017, it might not work with the newest version. You may try installing the latest version of Acrobat Reader and check if that helps.
As it is an optional version, please update the application to the newest version using the following steps:
- In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help
- Select "Check for Updates."
For more information about the new release, refer to the following link: Adobe Acrobat Release Notes.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Hope this helps everyone. I am running Sonoma with latest OS 14.2.1 and deleted the current version of Acrobat on my MacBook M2 Max. I removed it and into the trash. Reinstalled the latest Acrobat Reader and I noticed the interface had changed, and using Google Chrome it printed flawlessly. Printed from the print icon in the program. Previously with the previous version I had spent all moring updating drivers, firmware, trying different browsers, and even updating Sonoma from 14 to 14.2.1. I thought it was an M2 compatibility issue but it appears just getting rid of the earlier version of Acrobat Reader did the trick.

Acrobat cannot print a Postscript file to a non-postscript printer, and Sonoma does not recognize my Xerox printer as being a Postscript printer (which it is). I installed the Generic Postscript Printer driver instead of the Xerox driver, and now everything is working. This may be a fix for yuou if you own a postscript printer.
If you don't have a Postscript printer the only two choices you seem to have are:
I'm sure Apple and/or Adobe will fix the problem soon. (sarcasm)

Hi there
Would you mind sharing the version of the version of the Acrobat you are using? If it is Acrobat 2020. The issue is known to our engineering team and is being worked on. The fix will be available in the future updates.

Hi!
I've been printing PDFs directly through my HP printer app. Hope this is a (slighty) easier solution.

Actually, not working as it should (or at least as it used to work before macOS Sonoma) latest updates only changes the print option to "print as image", where you lose a lot of the print quality (faded text, missing lines from tables, etc.). Printing the same PDF document (a bank statement in my example) before and after the update to Sonoma there is a clearly a big loss of quality, in some cases its even hard to read if the text is too small and in my case I need the print quality to be perfect like it used to be before macOS Sonoma. And I’m using the same laser printer and the printer is new. So, the problem is not fixed, from my point, merely a workaround to get printing working only, the actual real fix is to downgrade to macOS Ventura (where support for PostScript is still available or print from a Windows PC).

I just encountered the same problem after upgrading to Sonoma. I'm using a boxed Acrobat Pro 2017-- so not subscribing by the month, and no updates available, I don't think. But another user on another thread suggested opening the file you want to print in Preview and printing from there. This worked just fine for me and allows me to keep using Adobe Acrobat 2017 instead of deleting it and trying to reinstall, which probably wouldn't have worked since the 2017 program may not be supported anymore. Anyway-- try printing in Preview and see if that doesn't do it.

Thank you for this simple insight - you're right! Would have thought Acrobat was designed to auto update like the rest of Adobe's apps, oh, well. Thanks, again.

Changing print settings after the print window pops up, from Custom to Acrobat Default fixed the issue for me.

Fortunately, Preview works just as well as Adobe Acrobat; it comes with the Mac OS for free and just takes a little getting used to due to the slightly different interface. I won't be purchasing Adobe Acrobat any longer.

Unfortunately, many special PDF sheets and especially active PDF sheets do not work in the preview application... They are created in the AR program, they can only be completed there and printed only from the AR application 😕

Option no. 1 doesn't work. For me, I cannot make any changes on this tab and I get a message there that the Beta version of MacOS Sonoma does not allow printing to the image. Only I don't use the beta version... 🙄

Best solution to the printing issue - work / edit in Adobe and print from Apple's PDF app - Preview . . .
