Hi I hae Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, and I am trying to edit things such as bring object to back or front, but the OBJECTS menu on the right side are all greyed out.  I thought I have encountered this a while ago and I remember going to the preferences menu to check or uncheck something.  But I cant seem to remember how I did this before.  Any help is greatly appreciated. Its driving me nuts.

How would one use the Adobe SDK to create an actual tag from an item in the Contents pane?

Sometimes a document contains items which are "artifacted" , but should actually be in the Tag tree.

    Hello,

I have the same problem and I think it is one of the most annoying while tagging pdf files. Sometimes a certain object in a pdf file is designated as an artefact, but is a meaningful object in my opinion which should be available to users of accessibility tools. The situation can be a result of the conversion from the source program, or that I have marked an object as an artefact and many changes later, I regret it.

In the Content panel, I can click on those items and choose ‘remove Artifact’. After that, it is shown in that panel as a ‘normal’ object.

However, in the properties, all fields are greyed out. The former artefacts don’t show up in the Tags panel either (which was the whole point of the change).

So it seems that designating an object as an artefact is a one-way change. Does somebody know how to make it a two-way action? I think removing the artefact status of an object, should make editing of its meta properties possible immediately.

    Best regards,

    Bram

I have a similar problem except in my case the Acrobat Pro screen grays out about 10 seconds after loading. Acrobat then becomes totally unresponsive. I have to force shut it down. I am running Mac OS 14.2.1. Note: I have Acrobat on my laptop and it does not have thus problem. Here's a screen shot.

We are supporting an end user who is having problems with a specific font.

She's trying to change the font on a text.

She opens Tools/Content/Edit Document Text, selects the text, Right clicks and selects Properties, and no matter what font is selected, it provides the same result.

That result is  "The change to a different font was not done because the chosen font and the font encodings in the document differ and could not be resolved."

Again, this happens no matter which font is selected.

Someone posted something about doing it as "Edit Object" so we tried that... Tools/Content/Edit Object, and right click the object, select properties, and then on the text tab, and the option to select another font is greyed out.

The general consensus is that it says under Permissions, "No System Font is Available."

Thanks in advance for any assistance on this issue.

Does this happen on all PDFs, including those from completely different places (try with one from the internet)? If it's just one, probably need to retype the text.

I have Adobe Pro DC and the object/drawing tools are greyed out and I can't access them. How do I get them to work.

Then the file is probably secured/digitally signed/was created using LiveCycle Designer/something similar.

I am unable to rotate an object such as an oval.  when I enter into edit after drawing an object, the tools in right hand panel under objects are "greyed out"  How do I enable these functions?  Or is there another way to rotate objects?  I am using the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015 version.

Hello. I've just bought Acrobat Pro DC on monthly subscription. It installed without hiccup (Windows 7 Pro 64), and I have signed in with my credentials via the application's Help menu.

I have created a new blank-page PDF within Acrobat Pro. I click on the Rich Media Tool, and its toolbar appears. However, all buttons are greyed-out (Add Video, Add Sound, Add SWF...) except for Add Button and Select Object.

Clicking or double-clicking or selecting anywhere on the greyed-out buttons or the blank page achieves nothing - none of the greyed-out icons activate.

I can add a button using the Rich Media Tools, and can add text, images, links etc. with Edit Tools in this blank document. To me, this implies the document is not locked.

Loading an existing PDF file and attempting to change that has the same effect.

I cannot work out how to add a video to this newly-created PDF file. Can you help, please? What am I doing wrong?
