One page text can't be highlighted and copied, but others can.

On a 4 page document pages 1,3&4 can highlight text and copy, but on page 2 there is only a crosshair as the cursor and when I try to highlight it only gives me the option to copy image.

It isn't an image, but a text page like the others.

Spent about an hour reading forums and trying their suggested solutions, but the original issues aren't quite like this one with only one page.

Super frustrating.

Help Please!!!

How do you know that? Scale the page to the maximum. Check the characters. If the borders are still crisp and sharp, then they are vector and probably text. If the borders are blurry, they are part of an image.

In the case of a vector, it may well be that a transparent image is in front of the text.

Well look at that.

When I view it as a whole page it looks identical to the others, but you all are right, it is an image.

I don't understand why someone would do that, but here we are.

I thought for sure it was something that I was doing wrong on my end.

Thanks!!!

There are two possibilities for this: this was a scanned document, and the 2nd page was never OCRed, or someone, at some time, converted the page into an image and then re-imported this back to the original document, so it was never converted back to text and not an image.

Before I try to help you, please let us know which version of Acrobat you are using. That will help me help you.

Hey there Gary,

Thanks for the reply.

I don't believe that the document is scanned. It appears to be a Word document.

My version is:
Adobe Acrobat Reader | Version 2023.006.20320 | 64-bit

Thanks again!

From what you describe it is mostly likely an image, but there's nothing you can about it using the free Reader.

Tried Menu> Preferences> General> Make select tool select images before text> applied that, then set it back thinking that it might unstick that page, but no luck.
