Opening documents on MacBook Air is now completely hit or miss

I am really beginning to lose it with Adobe lately. It seems that whether or not I can open a document, whether it's on my macbook or in onedrive, has become so random I feel like I can no longer work effectively. I have read posts with tips and given permissions when necessary, rebooted, etc. But this is a huge hindrance to my job when I can't open a file I need to read. 

Has anyone else had this problem and have a solution? It doesn't seem to matter if I try to open the document through Adobe or Finder. It won't open. Thanks
