Page being scanned as an image rather than editable text

I have a 37 page document to edit.  I have Adobe Acrobat DC that I just installed.  I scanned and each page is saved as an entire image, rather than each paragraph or column as an editable word.  How do I get this to change???

Hi Jenniffer,

You can do this using either of this way:

Open file> Go to Tools> Enhance scan> Recognize text> In this file> Settings(select 'Editable Text and Images')>ok> Recognize Text

or

Open file> Go to Tools> Edit PDF and click 'Convert to Text'option (if available) under "scanned Document" option

Hope it helps.

Thanks.
