Page size from Adobe PDF Maker in Excel different to selected size

New Here ,

I have an Excel spreadsheet with a tab set to scale to fit a single A4 sheet of paper.  My Adobe PDF printer and preference settings in the Create Adobe PDF tab of the Excel ribbon are all using a conversion setting with the paper size set to the standard A4 sheet size.  When I print the sheet using the Adobe PDF printer, the single sheet is printed onto an A4 size page (210mm x 297mm).  When I use the Adobe PDFMaker function with the single sheet selected and the conversion option set at 'Actual Size', the single sheet is printed onto a page with dimensions 396.2mm x 560.5mmn (i.e. not even close to A4 paper).  Screen snips of the above are attached.

I have checked every possible Adobe print setting to ensure the default paper size is A4 but can't find where or why this odd paper size conversion is happening when using the Adobe PDFMaker function.  I have seen similar threads n the Adobe Community but now actual resolution or solution.  Any/all help appreciated.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

As described you're experiencing an issue with the paper size when using the Adobe PDF Maker function in Excel. The output is generating a much larger page size, even though your settings are set to A4.

Please try the steps below and see if that works for you:

  1. Open your Excel sheet and go to Page Layout > Size, and ensure it is set to A4 .

  2. Under Scale to Fit > Scaling, confirm that it is set to "Fit to 1 page wide by 1 page tall."

Let us know how it goes.

Regards
Amal

Hi Amal - confirming that my Page Layout > Size was set to A4 and that scaling was set to 'Fit to 1 page wide by 1 page tall' as per the snip below.  As mentioned above, when printing using the 'Adobe PDF' printer, the page prints out in A4 paper size but the odd/larger page size (which is not an ISO size that I recognise) only happens when I use the 'Create PDF' under the Acrobat tab in the Excel ribbon (with me not making any changes to page layout or settings).

Do you have any other suggestions as to how to fix this issue (which is frustrating)?

Hi Akanksha Garg,

A sample file together with the output from CreatePDF tool in Excel attached for your information and further investigation. In this instance, despite all settings having the page size set to A4 (both the Excel sheet size and the Adobe PDFMaker), the output page size is 362.3mm x 256.1mm, not A4 (297mm x 210mm).

Hi Akanksha Garg - repeating my earlier email reply in this chat just in case the attachments didn't make it through OK
