Hello,

Is it possible to make some sort of paragraph styles in Acrobat Pro (or DC)? I have got 300 pages of pdf's made in LaTeX to put into a Indesign document, but I have to change many inconsistent sentences regarding font size and type.

Hej

Hi

You cant’t create styles in Acrobat, but you can create them as you convert to InDesign and then make your edits in InDesign.

Recosoft makes a PDF2InDesign plug-in. They have a free trial so you can test it, and it will apply styles to the InDesign document.

PDF2ID - PDF to InDesign, How to convert PDF to InDesign, Convert PDF to InDesign

I haven’t used it, but I have spoken to them at the Creative Pro Week, where they always have a booth as a sponsor. You might ask on the InDesign forum if you want to find someone who has used it hands-on.

No, it's not possible. Acrobat is not a word processing application and PDF files were not meant to be edited in such an extensive way.

Than you for the answer.

It is possible though to edit single words regarding type font, szie, colour etc. So I am waiting for the next step from Adobe to make styles as well.

Yes, it's possible, but it can be very tricky. Making a small change can cause all kinds of issues with the rest of the text.

No. Acrobat is really, really, the wrong tool for this. It's editor if for use as a desperate last resort, and it is slow and painful, and often impossible. This should be resolved in the source LaTeX document, or other LaTeX->InDesign paths researched.

For more than 20 years I have seen this. People want to convert from X to Y, a wildly unsuitable conversion. They discover that they can go from X to PDF, and PDF to Y, and believe the job is solved. PDF is especially bad for this because in InDesign they can only be uneditable graphics.
