Hi kevincagnetti,
As per the description of the issue mentioned, you are receiving PCL XL error when trying to print pdf in Acrobat/Reader, is that correct?
Try changing the following setting and see if that helps in resolving the issue:
1- Launch Reader for ex>click Print
2- Uncheck the box next to "Choose paper source by PDF page size"
3- Close the print dialogue box>relaunch Reader and try printing again.
Which application is installed on the machine- Acrobat Reader/Adobe Acrobat?
And, the Operating System- Mac/Windows?
Have you tried printing from other applications like MS Word/TextEdit?
Keep us posted with the results.

I have personally tried all methods suggested. But it is an update bug
that needs to be fixed in the Adobe program – has to be.
Just started doing this since the last update.
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015.006.3036
No network printer will work, changing to image won’t work. Uninstalled
reinstalled. Rebooted, etc. If I open the pdf in another program like
AVS4U, it will print.
This is frustrating straight across the board. If we change the .pdf
extension to Adobe Reader it will then print. But what is the use of
having Pro DC if it can’t print.???
It is getting to be a joke a really big joke.

Hi Sara,
Could you please check if there is an update available for the printer? You may visit the printer's manufacturer website for the same.
If you have HP printer installed, you may try installing PCL5 driver for the printer using the following link and see if that works?
Universal Print Driver | HP® Official Site
Let us know how it goes.

I am using the PCL 5 for my HP Color LaserJet 5500
and the Xerox WC7855 has the PCL6
This is happening to all 3 desks that have the classic Adobe Pro DC version 2015.006.30306 file version 15.006.30306.25331 installed on their computer.

Please note that except for PostScript printers, Acrobat and Reader rely on the operating system and printer drivers to generate the page description language such as PCL5 or PCL/XL (PCL/6) etc. Adobe has no control over what those drivers generate and send to the printer.
You might try and see if the printer's vendor (such as HP or Xerox) or the OS provider (such as Microsoft or Apple) have an updated printer driver for your printer models.
Alternatively, if your printer supports PostScript, install the PostScript driver and use that instead.
