Hi, ich möchte ein PDF Dokument erstellen. Dies mit dem Passwort so schützen, dass der Empfänger es jederzeit auf dem Tab öffnen, aber nur nach Eingabe des Passwortes bearbeiten kann.

Hi Christianh,

We apologize for the delay in further response to your query.

You are referring to two type of document protections here.

1st- Document Open Password: You can easily set up a document password using Acrobat, which would restrict the end user to open pdf unless they don't enter the password.

And 2nd- Permission Password: A permissions password (also known as a master password) requires a password to change permission settings. Using a permissions password, you can restrict printing, editing, and copying content in the PDF.

Recipients don’t need a password to open the document in Reader or Acrobat. They do need a password to change the restrictions you've set.

Since you have mentioned that you want the recipient to open the pdf on their tab but can not edit without entering password, in that case you need to set the permission password to achieve this.

Note: To change the permission of pdf to be able to edit it, your end users would require Acrobat subscription. As changing document security would not be possible with free mobile app Adobe Reader.

However, If you want the users to be able to open the pdf on Tablet (without subscribing for Acrobat) then you can setup the document opening password, but you can't restrict the editing.
