PDF files print VERY SLOWLY

HELP!!!

I am using an iMac (version 10.13.1) printing on an HP MPF M476dw.  I've never had problems before, however now when I print PDF files it prints VERY SLOWLY.  On the order of 15 minutes per page!

I've been in touch with Apple and HP with no avail.

Can anyone please help me find a solution to this?

Slow printing may happen with the "print as image" option. However, I've never seen a 15 minutes delay.

Abambo,

thanks for feedback.

We have tried all printing options, as well the image printing option. Nothing works if we try to print large documents with Adobe DC.

Currently - The only solution is printing with mac preview software.

Adobe DC (part of Adobe CC - language German)

Architecture: x86_64

Printer:

HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw

Firmware: 20160921

Used in network: wired Ethernet

Used is, according to HP service recommendations - Bonjour, IPP

Hi Vancouvergator,

Please try following troubleshooting steps:

1- Reboot the machine and print pdf files again, does that work?

2- If it doesn't, try printing pdf files as image, click "Advanced" under print dialogue > check the box next to "Print as Image".

3- If step 2 doesn't work, try the steps suggested in this link: Printing pdf is very slow

Could you let us know the application you are using to print the pdfs- Reader/ Acrobat?

What is the dot version of the application? To check the version: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Have you tried printing from other applications? Does this behavior still continue?

I have same issue.

Printer: HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw - used in network, printer is new and installed 6 days ago.

Hardware: iMac 27 - i7 late 2014 - 32 GB RAM

Software Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

Printing of large PDF documents (in our case, one sample document has 2.7 MB) isn't possible, independent if document scanned, or created by any other software - e.g. Page, Word or direct translation bei Adobe.

In all cases preflight without failure.

HP software is up to date - HP service was already contacted

As well, printing as image without success.

Printing of the document and all other large documents with Mac own software - preview app - printing with any trouble - immediately printing f the document after seeing to printer.

Is anybody there who is able to support us. The printing with Mac preview app is a temporary solution.
