Hi everyone
this is Vince from Italy.
I’m using Acrobat DC for a form.
I’m creating an order form that will be added inside my website.
it’s a simple page with the customer data and in the bottom name, price and quantity of the item.
in the program preview it works fine: when i type the quantity it does the calculation and the total is correct. but when i export the PDF i can only type in the boxes and nothing happens.
an other issue i have is the send option. I've added a box that should send the PDF via mail to my account but it doesn’t work.
can anyone help me please?

That's not exporting it. It's just opening it using another application. It's possible to do, of course, but for best results you should really stick with Adobe Acrobat/Adobe Reader. Apple Preview, for example, is known to corrupt PDF forms as soon as it opens them...

What you mean with "export the pdf" ? In Adobe Acrobat you need only save the file.

hi, thanks for your reply.
i use OSX.. when i say export, i mean open with "preview" or other pdf apps.
my purpose is to use the pdf form within the website so when people open it they can place the order (just the quantity) on the pdf and send it back to me. is it possible?

Sure, you can open it using Acrobat Standard.
I don't understand why you want to convert it to another format... Why not simply upload the PDF file itself directly to your site?

I don't convert the PDF. I just open it with the default app. But with preview from apple I don't see those changes (The other parts works). I've downloaded acrobat reader and this evening I'll try to open w that. I'll let you know. Thanks for now

hey man! it works fine with adobe acrobat. i'm lucky that acrobat reader is the most popular so i think people will not have problems open it. one more question. when i upload the form on my website, is it auto compatible with tablet and phones?
thanks so much

Absolutely not. It depends on the platform and app used, but don't expect most scripts to work, even in the best apps.

ok thanks for the advice. one more question.
i need to have different prices in my form because of the shipping costs.
in my case if they order 1 piece, shipping price will be 6€, for more than 1 item it changes.
so i made a dropdown box where i can select the quantity.
how can i make the calculation script? should be: PRICE X QUANTITY + SHIPPING COSTS. is it the correct formula?
how can the shipping costs price change based on the quantity selected?
i've attached a draft

The link is not working. Also, you didn't explain the situation very clearly... So for 1 item it's 6€. How to calculate the shipping cost if there are more than one items in the order?

My bad for being unclear.
The total changes depending on the quantity selected (that works). It simply does the math (quantity X price + shipping for 1 item= total)
My problem is that the shipping cost are different. If people buy more than one item the shipping costs are diffemerbromin. So I need to have this calculatoion that changes depending on how many are selected.
so of they need one piece the form will make:
quantity X price + 6€= total
if they need more
quanity X price + 13€= total
so basically have this different option.
and other issues with the sending button. It works fine to my gmail account my questions are:
- i made a box that send the mail but I can't see the text "SEND" on it. I've tried to move position in the options but doesn't work. I've tried also to add a icon that I hoped might link to the sending action but I can't do it
-how can transpose all the PDF data in a simpler excel tab or collect them in a better way?
thank so much!

- Do you have a separate field for the shipping costs, or do you want to do it all in the total field's calculation?
- The text that appears on a button is determined by the Label property, which you'll find under Properties - Options.
- You can export the form data of one (or more) files to a tab-delimited text file, which can then be opened directly in Excel.
That can be done using the Export Data or the Merge Data Files into a Spreadsheet tools.
