PDF gibberish when emailed

I was sent a PDF to edit. I had to embed a font to edit it. When I was done, I emailed it back, but when uploaded to email, several pages appeared in gibberish. They still read correctly in my original file on adobe, but when I open it up in my email OR when the recipients read the pdf, several random pages show up in gibberish. What can I do to fix this?

Hi @Steven26643977rruu, It looks like the PDF is missing one more fonts that didn't get embedded. Try embedding all fonts with Acrobat's Preflight utility.

How to do this: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/text-changes-to-special-symbols-with-saving-pdf-in-acrobat/m-p/10636886#M151977 and jump to the green correct answer that gives step-by-step instructions.

Also, how the PDF is being viewed can affect how well the fonts are recognized and rendered. When you wrote:

quotebut when uploaded to email ... when I open it up in my email OR when the recipients read the pdf

Were you using a standalone desktop version of email software, like MS Outlook? And were you using a preview of the PDF?

Or a web-based email/webmail like GMail? Most browsers and their plug-ins don't render PDFs well at all.
