See the below image, this is the same in both Outlook & Apple Mail, this happens when I both receive a PDF or compose an email and attach a PDF, and the icon shows a blank page.
I have attempted to uninstall Adobe Acrobat and then reinstall it.
I have set Adobe as the Default and went to "Change All"
I even attempted setting it to preview and then back to Adobe but still get this issue of not being able to easily determine the file type.

Same problem here; started with Ventura too.
My desktop icons look fine. Icons of pdfs sent in mail look like this:
Thumbnails at top of open pdf documents look like this:
Happens in safe boot mode and when logged into a test account.

Glad it isn't just me, wonder if it an Adobe issue or a OSX issue.

Same problem here. Only since Ventura.
pdf attachments in three different e-mail programs on two machines now have blank icons. Whether opened within the e-mail program or downloaded, the pdf attachment opens as normal. Once in Finder, the file has the usual Acrobat icon.
Setting the default program to Preview and then changing for all pdfs, restarting the machine, shows e-mail attachments with the correct Preview icon.
Uninstalling, restarting the machines and reinstalling Acrobat results in the blank pdf attachment icon returning. Same behaviour, two machines.

Similar problem, same for both Adobe and and Apple Preview, must rest with the new mail-version on Ventura. This mail version has another astonishing deficiency; you can no longer search for mailboxes within Mail. So if you have organized all your mails in boxes, good luck.

This is an adobe community not Preview. Imporrtant so that Adobe engineers who (may) monitor this site can be aware of users' experiences. Tx.
