PDF Pages Appear Blank

Community Beginner ,
Jan 31, 2019 Jan 31, 2019

This seems to affect large sized pages only.

I'm making a pdf of a page in InDesign. When it opens in Acrobat DC, the page LOOKS blank.

I've tried different distilling settings with the same result. Sometimes, resizing a graphic (pages are very simple) makes a difference. Nothing is invisible, locked, transparent, etc.

In Acrobat, I've tried changing the Show Large Images setting. Nothing changes.

I've reinstalled Acrobat, trashed my prefs, restarted, etc. Nothing.

Now, here's where things get really screwy.

Other people see the art in the pdf.

If I print the page, the art prints.

If I view the pdf through a browser, the art shows.

But in Acrobat, nothing. Even the page thumbnail is blank.

In Acrobat, if I edit the pdf, I can see frames and highlight letters but I see nothing.

I'm in Windows 7. Acrobat DC 2019.010.20069

Hi Jimbobway,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Acrobat DC 2019.010.20069 is not supported on Windows 7. Please refer to this link DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products for more information.

It may be a compatibility issue. However, you may try once to repair the installation or resetting the preferences of the application.

In application, go to Help > Repair installation.

Take help of the steps provided here How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default. to reset the preferences.

Check if that makes any difference.

Please try once to check if you can open the PDFs fine with Acrobat on compatible Windows OS.

Would it be possible to share the file with us, so we can check it on our end? How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

Hope the information helps.

Let us know if you experience any issue or need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Thanks for the advice. Neither repairing, reinstalling nor trashing the prefs helped.

I've run into other documents where elements but not the entire page is missing.

I'm not sure there's any point in sharing a document because they appear fine to everyone else. But here it is. The first page is the pdf. The second page is made from a screen grab.

Shared Files - Acrobat.com

It may very well be a Windows 7 - Acrobat Pro DC incompatibility. I'll check with my IT department.

Thank you for sharing the information.

I have checked the PDF that you have shared with us.

On the first page, the art is visible in the PDF.

Please ask your IT department for the windows update or you may check it on any other alternate machine with a compatible OS version.

Feel free to update the thread if you need any help or have any questions.

Regards,

Meenakshi

If I'm reading the system requirements correctly, the page you sent me to says Acrobat DC is supported down to Win 7 SP1.

Or am I missing something?
