This is a continuation of Re: Acrobat Reader XI for Mac does not pass Job Handling-Authentication-User Number from the OS prin...
We are a higher education institution with many Mac users. Certain departments have Ricoh printers configured with User Codes. However, if the user simply opens a PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or Adobe Acrobat Pro on their Mac OS X system and goes to File - Print and selects Print, the job will not print. The web interface of printer reports an Authentication error (Access restricted), but the User Code is saved correctly. If the user goes to File - Print and selects Printer... changes nothing and just clicks Print and then Print again, the job will print correctly. Will Adobe fix this issue?

7 years later and no solution? I just put a ticket in with their support.
It has to do with their print dialog menu that is different than the system print dialog menu.
We had this same issue with Chrome not sending copy codes, and our solution was to just disable it. Luckily with Chrome, there is a documented key to do this: defaults write com.google.Chrome DisablePrintPreview -bool true
We deploy that as a configuration profile, but same concept.
I'm not seeing anything in defaults read com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro
That would help accomplish this (disabling Reader and Acrobat Pro's print preview / Adobe print dialog menu).
