Question

PDF to Excel conversion

I have converted a number of PDFs to XLS from a software package that we use with no problem, however when converting one this morning, a couple of the pages have lost all formatting. I can't see any obvious difference between these two pages and the rest of the document - it's all the same font and same formatting.

Could anyone advise if they have had the same problem?

Is there any where else I could go for help on this issue as I'm not having any luck here?
Thanks!

Hey!

I sincerely apologize for not being able to get back to you on this discussion. Will take it further from here.

I did check the screenshots shared above, the conversions seems to be odd. To identify the root cause of this issue, it would be really helpful if you could share a sample PDF file with us. We'll convert it at our end and see the result.

If issue would be reproducible, then we'll escalate it further.

You can upload the file to your Document Cloud and share the link here with us. Or can send on the email address shared via Private Message with you.

I see that you have an active subscription (and a canceled Acrobat DC) for Adobe PDF Pack, which is an online service and can also be accessed through freeware Acrobat Reader DC. Assuming that you have been using Acrobat Reader DC for conversion, is that right?

Additional info: Update your Acrobat Reader to the latest version. Open Acrobat Reader>help>check for update or download it manually https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Thanks,

Akanchha

Thanks Akanchha. I will email the document through to you shortly. Yes I have been using Acrobat Reader DC. I've also tried doing it through the online service as well - both have the same results.

Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this to us.

To understand the issue better, please confirm the following details:

1- Exact steps to create the Excel files.

2- Acrobat's dot version.

3- OS version.

4- Few screenshots of original and converted file or share sample files itself.

Also, what happen when you try converting it from/within Acrobat itself? If not done yet, please try once.

For testing, login to Document Cloud web https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/ and convert the file from there.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Thanks Akanchha.

I have tried converting both through the desktop app and online - both have the same issue. I have version 21.005.20048 installed, and running on Windows 10 Pro.

I've attached screenshots of 2 pages. Page 1 is a page which doesn't convert correctly and Page 2 is a page which does convert correctly. As you can see, both originals are identical in format and font so I don't understand why it's not converting in the same way.

Thanks!
