PDF to PDF/A conversion in automated manner

I have a requirement to transform several thousand of PDF (image) files to PDF/A format per day.

It should Transform(convert) PDF documents in source folder into PDF/A format of a destination folder in a batch processing manner. I do not really want any manual intervention in this case. This activity should get triggered on its own on a particular time interval.

So, I don't want to convert the document one by one. So, if there are 8000 documents in the source folder, the tool should convert them on its own and delete documents from source folder once conversion gets over.

Is this possible with any of Adobe tool? Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

To my surprise I find this can be done with the LiveCycle (AEM) product on a server: Adobe LiveCycle ES4 * Converting PDF documents to PDF/A We have no knowledge of the product here.

Adobe Acrobat is a personal tool with light duty automation. This is far beyond its abilities. You probaby need a non-Adobe tool. I assume you only want PDF/A-1b, since PDF/A-1a requires extensive manual checking in every case.
