PDF viewer - does not open embedded file attachment

Hi ,

I have created a pdf using Adobe (See attached pdf).
1. Embed file (displayed as paperclip symbol in attached file) using adobe comment tool
2. Open Pdf in chrome
3. Click on paperclip  symbol, embedded file attachment annotation.
4. In chrome pdf viewer,  I expect the attachment to be open in new tab as it does in adobe. The attachment does not open chrome pdf viewer.

Any idea on chrome/edge support of embedded file attachment.

Thank you
Ankita

Is there any other way to have such an attachment and able to open it in web browser as well. For ex, add an attachment instead of embed using comment tool.

If so, how do I create that attachment ?

Ask the developers of each web browser when they will implement full PDF support.
But in my opinion it will take a lot of patience…

"I expect the attachment to be open in new tab as it does in adobe."

You should not.

Chrome is a web browser not a PDF viewer, it doesn't support all PDF format features

Hi there

++ Adding to the correct suggestion by Bernd Alheit

Web browsers use their own PDF mechanism to display and render the PDF file and they are not Adobe dependant.

You may get in touch with Chrome/Edge support for more information .

This extension is for the conversion from web sites to PDF.  It doesn't display PDF files in Chrome.
