Hi everyone,
I need to create a PDF document for a review workflow where several people read and comment on the file one after another.
Here’s what I need:
Ideally, the document should be revision-safe, meaning that all comments and changes are traceable, and earlier annotations cannot be altered by later reviewers.
Is there a way to set up such a protected, revision-safe commenting process directly within a PDF file?
Thank you in advance for your help!

@Playful_Unicorn4365 sounds like you absolutely want no one to change anyone else's previous comments, each person should Certify the document after they are done commenting (instead of just saving). Each successive certification locks the previous set of content and comments, creating a truly revision-safe audit trail within the document's signature panel. However, this method requires every reviewer to have access to a digital ID and use Acrobat Pro

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I tried following these steps, but unfortunately without success. As soon as the document is certified, no further input is possible—even if the permitted actions are selected in the dropdown menu. The document becomes completely locked, and the only remaining option is to validate the signature. Adobe restricts the PDF from any further editing once it has been certified.
As an alternative, I considered adding text fields on an additional page, which could then be locked maybe?
