Poster Printing on MacOS

A week ago I printed everything just fine. But now, after a MacOS update, the "Poster" option is greyed out. When I checked to see if "Print as Image" was checked, it's also greyed out and says "Only Print As Image is Supported on MacOS14 Beta". What can I do? I need to print these patterns asap.

I'm seeing this same issue today (March 16, 2025). Using Adobe Acrobat Reader on a Mac - MacOS is up to date and so is my Adobe application. When I go to Print, the Poster option is greyed out. Is this a known issue still? Anyone else having this same problem?

Hi @hanni_8734

Sorry for the troubled experience, and thank you for reaching out.

The Poster option in Adobe Acrobat Reader can be greyed out for several reasons.

Possible Causes:

1. PDF is Not a Standard Page Size

 - Check the page size under File > Properties > Description. If it’s unusual, try opening a test file and see if the option is available.

2. Protected or Secured Document

•Some secured PDFs restrict printing features.

Check File > Properties > Security and see if any restrictions apply.

3. Incorrect Printer Selected

• If the selected printer does not support tiling (Poster mode), Acrobat may disable it.

• Try switching to another printer in the Print dialog.

Let us know how it works

Hi Tariq, thanks for the reply.

I've checked the 3 things you mentioned and it doesn't appear to be a result of any of those things. It used to work just fine on my computer with this same printer. It's only recently that I've run into this issue. I have clients that print PDFs I create, and they are having the same issue (Mac users), and it seems to be a recent issue. I've recently done MacOS updates, and I wonder if it's related to a recent OS update. I came here to see if other Mac users are having the same issue, and it seems others are too. The Adobe Poster print option has worked great for me for years on this computer with my same printer and same files. So I'm hoping this is a bug fix that can be corrected soon?

I'm still having the same problem with MacOS 14. Is there any solution ? It's been a while since this issue was raised.

I believe that it's related to the Mac Sonoma not printing to non-postscript printers.

Wait for the final release. Using beta software is always risky.

We're not using Beta software, that's the problem.
