Potential help with Nuance Dragon professional

I used to be able to dictate comments easily into Adobe Acrobat professional using Nuance Dragon professional 15.  For some time now, I have noticed that it has not worked nearly as well. For example, it usually takes approximately one minute for the dictation to be entered into the comment box within Adobe Acrobat.  I have resorted to typing my comment in Microsoft Word and then cutting and pasting into the Adobe comment box.  If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. Thanks.

In Adobe, Go to Edit, Go to Preferences, then to Security (enhanced) and uncheck the box that says Run in AppContainer.

The AppContainer option basically runs Adobe in a protected sandbox to protect you from any viruses that may be found in PDFs. However, Windows already has a virtual sandbox for this, and this is Adobe's secondary backup. In my opinion, it's not really needed if you're not downloading PDFs from unknown sources.

You might still need to use the dictation box to dictate, or you could write yourself a script were you can say print+dictation and it automatically sends Dragon keys.

Hi,

I am assuming you are on windows, have you tried the windows dictation tools, do they suffer the same delay ? I don't know if this would be an Acrobat or Nuance problem, I would be tempted to redirect your query to users that know the Nuance Dragon program better than we do or to Nuance themselves.

Thanks for your response.  I did try using Windows dictation to dictate into Adobe Acrobat. This did not work also.  I will reach out to Nuance.  In the meantime, I downloaded the free Foxit reader.  Nuance is working well with this product.  Arvind
