Whenever I try to convert an image to another format, in this case CIERGB it fails in a breathtaking array of surprising ways to fail from all black to random arrays of lines.

Is it me?

Unfortunately attachments are broken right now. CIERGB is a most unusual color space to use, mostly of historical interest I think. To see if this is related to the problem, please let us know what happens when you use a common industry standard profile like sRGB.

Well, I decided to revisit in proofing all of them rgb profiles and that particular one gave much better results onscreen. It's quite interesting to run down the list... or maybe its just cabin fever talking.

Do you think updating the video graphic card drivers could help?

Or may be changing to a different resolution setting.?

Sometimes the  video card driver application have options that enhances the color and image settings better than whatever the operating system can support natively. That's just an idea.
