Printing Portfolio Pdf's

Hi,

I have a portfolio created from about 80 individual digitally signed pdf's that are sorted by "unit.". I want to print paper copies of the individual files sorted alphabetically by name after weeding out about 15 unecessary pages.

The way I have done it to date is to print the portfoluio including All PDF files to pdf's (using Abobe or Microsoft or whatever pdf print driver), which prints each portfolio pdf to its own pdf - then, after removing the unecessary pages, combining them back into a signle pdf sorted by name. Then the combined pdf is printed to paper. The process creates clean up getting rid of all the pdf files that were created just to sort then print. I also have to confirm each of the 80 pdf names when printing the portfolio, which is a waste of time.

The second way I tried doesn't work - extracting the files from the portfolio, removing unecessary files, combining by name, then printing. I can eliminate having to confirm the name of each temporary-for-printing pdf , but when I extract the pdf's from the portfolio the signatures are removed.

Anyone have any good ideas how I can print a portfolio by name of individual pdf easily and efficiently?

thanks

David

I don't think there is a good solution. But I should correct and clarify a few things.

I am limited to 50 print jobs at a time to our high volume printer. So I can't send all 80 pdf's in the portfolio in one batch since this creates 80 separate print jobs, and they would be out of the order I want. Thus, my goal to create a temporary combined pdf of all 80 - not only can I resort the pages based on names but I can send to the printer in 1 print job, not 80.

And the signatures are lost when I *combine* the pdf's, not when I extract them from the portfolio.

I think that I am stuck with the first method I described and 80 filename confirmations when printing to individual pdfs (the signature is changed to an image in the newly printed pdf, which is fine), combining/sorting by name, printing to paper (some people still require paper), then cleaning up unecessary files afterwards.
