Question

Printing to PDF issues. Can I talk about them with samples?

A few versions ago, I started to notice that when I would print to pdf the parts of the web files would be missing.

I have some time to talk about this and would like to notify the team. I've had so many problems with the product that last summer I reduced my CC to just PDF to try to these addressed before I go back to the full suite. Also, I was hoping for Figma to be a part of the CC when I came back but that's not happening now.

But moving along. Printing problems occured when I print files from the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), JMP (Part of SAS) and others.

With the WSJ, the pdfs create without the charts.

With the JMP site, the imagery is missing.

I'll take a moment and post some samples for the team to look at.

I will post the screenshots of the web pages(before) and then the pdf result(after), okay?

Finally, is there any way you can speed up the pdfing? The product seems slower than before on Windows.  Also, I do like the new pdf interface but I had to makes some adjustment but the older one was easier to use  because buttons were bigger. I'll post concerns in another post.

I will try to now to detail my issues with the PDFs.  Also, the problems would occur on Chromium Edge, Chrome and Firefox.

Regarding the Wall Street Journal, I have 2 problems mainly when pdfing.

1. The graphics or charts wouldn't be included in the pdf. Sometimes, I would have to go back and manually click the images or charts to get them included.

2. The other issue I had was after pdfing, I could not select the text on the pages. When I did try to select all I got were lines or blue blotches appearing on the page. Is this a new feature?

This is a WSJ sample article from the WSJ back in August 2023 entitled, "Chinese Investors Warm To Sweentened US Cash For Visa Program (Pay wall but I've post screenshots of the article in this post now).

Screenshots of PDFs that when I tried to select.

1.  Notice the line down the page.

2. Notice the blue splash preventing me from getting any of the data.
