Problem Installing Acrobat X on new Windows 11 Computer

New Here ,
Nov 05, 2025 Nov 05, 2025

I have a valid license, and downloaded it from Adobe using the s/n. Chat indicates it can't be reinstalled. Why would it be available as a download if it can't be installed? Runs fine on my Windows 10 computer.

@visual_imagination3131 Acrobat X was released in2010 — support ended in 2015. That's a long time ago. Its system requirements were designed for older operating systems like Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 (which aligns with your Windows 10 machine working). Could this work for Windows 11? Highly unlikely. But, maybe this link will help you, https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/apps/troubleshoot/licensing-activation-issues/cant-activate...

When you install it from the down provided, it will function as a trail license. After defined number of times it is launched, it will ask for the product key again. After entering the serial nuimber, it will say its invalid with no explaination. I used it for the trial and it worked flawless. Its not a mastter of compatibility with 11. not sure why it is any safer to use with Win 10. The problem is the validation servers have been shutdown.

Thanks for the link with the new sign-in process for older versions. It appears this is geared to acrobat 11 (and others) but not 10. It didn't work. I also have a version of 11 Pro, which did work with the new sign-on process, but said in the end the license was revoked. Whatever that means. Such an incredible waste of time and resources.

Hi Amal,

This is an incorrect answer that should be posted as it can confuse others of the primary reason why my serial number was returned as invalid. I understand this is a possible reason why it was returned as invalid, but certainly not in my case as well as many others. This was a deliberate change by Adobe to force users to move to a subscription system for recurring revenue. Adobe is certainly within there rights to refuse to support the product and remove any online access features, but not to disable a legal license issued from an authorized distributor. Your help sectuion should include a path to activation with proof of ownership at a minimum. This is very disappointing action.
